The Samsung SPH-M930 would be coming to Sprint as the followup to the mid-range Transform (SPH-M920), but now it looks like this model will actually be landing at Sprint-Nextel’s prepaid operator Boost Mobile, itis said to be a mid-range QWERTY slider headed to Boost. the Samsung SPH-M930, a Droid Charge-looking slider reportedly destined for the pre-paid world of Boost Mobile.

Samsung SPH-M930 Review, Specs and Released Date – Upcoming Sprint Phones

The Gingerbread handset is said to be rocking a 1GHz Qualcomm chip and is a mere FCC approval away from your thumbs. While marginally better than similar products within its range, it’s sure to be targeted at the crowd looking for affordable phones that do more than just texting and light social networking. It has a 2 megapixel camera, a 3.2 inch HVGA screen, a 1GHz processor and a full slide-out QWERTY. WiFi and Bluetooth are also present.
Samsung SPH – M930 – newest cell phones – is  slightly higher than similar products in their range better, it will certainly be looking for affordable mobile phone, SMS and light than just the target social groups. It has a 2 megapixel camera,  1GHz processor and a full slide-out QWERTY. Obviously, this is going to be one interesting handset for the prepaid carrier, especially when it’s the first time we’re seeing an Android powered smartphone using that all to prevalent landscape QWERTY sliding form factor. The front is somehow in reminiscence of Droid Charge while the back is decorated with line patterns as broidery.  The detail is certainly misleading your keyboard QWERTY to Samsung Transform ,But details like the pushbutton mechanical Android (Gingerbread in this case) are sufficient to distinguish him from his older brother at second glance.

The latest news on this device is that the FCC has approved it. So if  no contract is what you prefer, this Android phone could be a good choice for you. Samsung Mobile Exec Joins Windows Phone Team

Gavin Kim, a high-ranking executive in Samsung's mobile group, has left for Microsoft to help it build the fledgling Windows Phone 7 product line
Microsoft has named Kim general manager, Windows Phone product management, the company confirmed on Monday. His previous job was as vice president for content and enterprise mobility at Samsung. At an event in August, he introduced a software update for Samsung's Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet. Kim's job change was first reported on the blog Boy Genius Report.
Samsung has ridden Google's Android platform to great success in mobile phones, achieving the leading market share in the global phone business and the largest maker of Android devices. But the company has also used Windows Phone 7 in some handsets. Like many manufacturers that base products on Microsoft software, Samsung has a complex and longstanding relationship with Microsoft, said analyst Michael Cherry, of Directions On Microsoft.
Microsoft did not immediately provide more information about Kim's new job on the Windows Phone team.
"That kind of a role at Microsoft is generally involved in working on the tech design and the specs, and ... what features the version will have, and the schedule," Cherry said. However, titles are used loosely at the software giant in Redmond, Washington, he said.
Microsoft is pitting Windows Phone 7 against the more established Android, Apple iOS and BlackBerry platforms. Despite a partnership with Nokia that led to the unveiling last week of the Nokia 800 handset, the first using the Mango update of the OS, Microsoft has an uphill battle ahead in attracting both consumers and application developers. In addition, it's not clear what the future of the platform will be after Windows 8 is released, Cherry said. Windows 8 will have a version that runs on the Arm processor architecture, which runs most mobile phones.
In August, Charlie Kindel, the general manager of the Windows Phone developer experience, left Microsoft to start an unnamed new company.
The fact that Samsung hasn't challenged Kim's right to defect to Microsoft indicates the move won't affect relations between the companies, Cherry said. Some vendors have sued when key executives left for a more direct competitor, as in a high-profile dispute over former Hewlett-Packard CEO Mark Hurd's hiring at Oracle.

SAMSUNG PRESENTS BRAINTREE AFTER SCHOOL ENRICHMENT WITH FIRST HOPE FOR CHILDREN CHANNEL AWARD

Samsung Electronics America Inc., a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Corporation, today announced Braintree After School Enrichment (B.A.S.E.), a child-care program in Braintree, Massachusetts, as the first winner of the Samsung’s Hope for Children Channel Award. They will receive $10,000 in technology from Samsung’s Enterprise Business Division. BostonTech Partners, Inc., a local virtualization technologies solutions provider, nominated them for the award.

B.A.S.E. started with 10 children in 1985 and has since grown to become the largest after-school program in Braintree with more than 300 children today, developing a strong foundation within the local community along the way. They provide preschool through grade 7 children with opportunities to play and learn in a safe and caring environment. Roselyn Karll, the mother of current executive directors, Alysa Karll Rynne and Meridith Karll Duffy, started the program.

“Since my mother passed away in December of 2002, my sister and I have taken on the running of B.A.S.E. full time,” said Alysa Karll Rynne, executive director of the program. “With all of the day-to-day administrative responsibilities we have, we just haven’t had the time to apply for the funding and grants that we need. It is truly amazing that Doug stepped in and nominated us for this award and we’d like to thank both him and Samsung for providing us with a sorely needed upgrade to the technology we use here every day.”

“I’m truly happy that as a local small business owner we are able to help out in some small way,” said Doug Lee, CFO of BostonTech Partners, Inc. “B.A.S.E. is a wonderful program that is very closely connected to the local comminuty and we’re really excited for all the kids in the Braintree area that go there. I think it’s wonderful that Samsung has programs like this and I’m grateful to be a partner representing their products.”

Samsung’s Hope for Children Channel Award is part of Samsung’s Partners in Innovation channel program announced earlier this year. It invites Samsung resale partners to nominate worthy local education institutions through the program’s online portal, Partner Central. Selections are then made by an executive panel and the donation is made on behalf of the selected partner.

“Samsung’s whole Partners in Innovation program is built off a platform that helps us learn more about the the needs of our partners and the communities they serve and providing this Hope for Children Channel Award to such a deserving program closely integrated with one of our partners is a great example of that,” said Richard Hutton, senior channel marketing manager for Samsung’s Enterprise Business Division. “We look forward to working with Alysa and the folks at B.A.S.E. to determine what Samsung technology is going to help improve their daily lives the most.”

The Hope for Children channel awards are part of Samsung’s larger Hope for Children program which was developed with a strategic focus on programs dedicated to helping children share the wonder of life, learning and the planet. Since 2002 Samsung and its retail and business partners have raised more than $30 million for more than 400 schools, community-based foundations and charities throughout the U.S.

Samsung Galaxy S II for T-Mobile switches to ridiculous speed, overclocked beyond 1.8GHz

Samsung Galaxy S II for T-Mobile switches to ridiculous speed,
overclocked beyond 1.8GHz
Risky? Most certainly yes, but the gang of code-crunching experts over at XDA-Developers decided to have some fun with a Samsung Galaxy S II for T-Mobile anyway and brought the operating frequency of its processor above the 1.8GHz mark. That is more than 300MHz past the 1.5GHz, which the smartphone's dual-core Qualcomm chipset is clocked at out of the box.

The feat has been accomplished by installing an unofficial overclocking kernel that has been circulating the web for some time. And even though clock speed is just a number that does not always translate into better performance, those who have been brave enough to try it show that benchmark scores of an overclocked T-Mobile Galaxy S II are noticeably higher.

Samsung Galaxy S II for T-Mobile switches to ridiculous speed,
overclocked beyond 1.8GHz
After the overclock, the Samsung Galaxy S II is reportedly stable enough to be used normally. However, as the case is with any other unofficial modifications, flawless performance is not guaranteed. The custom kernel has yet to be tested thoroughly, so random reboots or unexpected glitches are not out of the question, not to mention that you might destroy your pricey smartphone.

Needless to say, you shouldn't try overclocking your T-Mobile Galaxy S II unless you really know what you are doing. But if you decide to try it out anyway, feel free follow the instructions provided at the source link below.

Samsung Focus S and Focus Flash are now available on AT&T, huge event in NYC celebrates their launch

Samsung Focus S and Focus Flash are now available on AT&T,
huge event in NYC celebrates their launch
Well, it turns out that the big NYC surprise that team Windows Phone was working so hard on is the announcement of the retail availability of the Samsung Focus S and Focus Flash from AT&T. And to make sure that everyone is aware that the smartphones have been launched, the guys have done something pretty extraordinary.

Showing off Windows Phone 7.5 Mango will be an enormous, six-story tall display, which now stands in the middle of Herald Square in New York City. Appropriately dubbed “The Big Windows Phone”, the contraption  will deliver 8 hours of live performance and digital entertainment, which will be projected on it for the amusement of everyone attending. The show will be kicking off at 12:00PM sharp.

As far as the newly-launched smartphones are concerned, the Samsung Focus S is a high-end offering equipped with a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus display and a 8-megapixel camera. The Focus S is also extremely thin measuring just a third of an inch at its slimmest point. A fair $199 is what the smartphone will cost you, as long as you do not mind the 2-year contract with AT&T that comes along with it.

The Samsung Focus Flash, on the other hand, is a cheaper alternative to the Focus S. It comes with a 3.7-inch Super AMOLED screen and a 5-megapixel shooter. In terms of pricing, the smartphone comes with a tempting $49 price tag after signing a 2-year agreement with AT&T.

Both of these devices are “capable of 4G speeds”, run Windows Phone 7.5 Mango, and come with a $25 prepaid card that can be spent in the Windows Phone Marketplace. Is anyone thinking about getting one of these smartphones? Or are you thinking about waiting for the mighty HTC Titan to be released? Feel free to drop a comment for us below.

Samsung GALAXY Nexus could launch November 21st on Verizon,
according to roadmap
A leaked Verizon memo showing "Upcoming Product Launches" gives us a lot of information about future release dates. First off, the memo confirms the 11/11 launch for the Motorola DROID RAZR. We've heard that some stores might welcome your DROID RAZR business on November 10th, but we would suggest that you make a phone call first to check.

More importantly, it now looks like the Samsung GALAXY Nexus will beat the Black Friday deadline with a launch the week before, November 21st. Many have been citing the pure Google experience of the phone as the reason they will select this model over the Motorola DROID RAZR or the HTC Rezound. The latter device, which will feature the special Beats by Dr. Dre headphones and the special Beats technology for audio. According to the leaked roadmap, the HTC Rezound will be rolled out to the masses on November 14th.

Other smartphones listed on the memo include the Samsung Illusion, scheduled for a November 17th launch. This is a low to mid-end Android device that will be released the same day as the BlackBerry Curve 9370. The latter is a world phone for RIM that runs BlackBerry 7 OS.

Basic phones listed on the roadmap include the Casio G'zOne Ravine 2 (November 17th), Verizon Adamant (December 1) and the LG Extravert (12/8). Tablets are also given a nod of the head with an 8 inch Motorola tablet (most likely the Motorola XOOM Media Edition) and the Motorola XOOM 2 listed for the same day-November 30th.

Barnes & Noble Nook Tablet hands-on

Barnes & Noble Nook Tablet hands-on
Not everybody wants to fork over their hard earned cash for a fully featured tablet, but for those who prefer an eReader of some sort, with a sprinkling of some tablet functionality, the recently announced Nook Tablet might simply be what the doctor has ordered. Barnes & Noble unveiled its latest product in the Nook Tablet, which handsomely retains the Nook Color’s appearance, but is upgraded to meet some of the recent competition – namely, the Amazon Kindle Fire and the horde of other 7” tablets out there.

First and foremost, we really needed to rub our eyes because we thought for a moment we were looking at the original Nook Color from last year. Design-wise, it’s an exact facsimile, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, taking into account that it was one solid feeling tablet already. At the same time, it manages to be lighter as well at 14.1 ounces. However, the biggest attraction is its immaculate looking 7” VividView Color display with a resolution of 1024 x 600, which is of the IPS variety. Not only does it shine brilliantly, but it sports a wide-viewing angle to perfectly complement the reading experience. Clarity is achieved because it’s fully laminated with no air gaps, thus, enabling it to maintain remarkable clarity with minimal glare.

Under the hood, a 1GHz dual-core TI OMAP4 processor with 1GB of RAM is providing all the horsepower for this Android based tablet, but as we know, it’s heavily customized to offer users an experience that’s more focused on reading above all others. Still, there are some multimedia centric aspects to this tablet – like its ability to play 1080p high-definition videos without much fluff. Moreover, we were given a demo on reading an eBook, looking through a Marvel comic book, and even the new AliveTouch technology that allows you to record your voice in a children’s book.

Some of its other features include 11.5 hours of battery life with reading, 9 hours of video, 3.5mm headset jack, 16GB of internal storage, expandable microSD card slot, and Wi-Fi. All in all, it’s undoubtedly attractive when you look at its $249 price, which is actually $50 more than the Kindle Fire. However, after taking a closer look at some of its superior offerings, the difference in price might simply be warranted.

Samsung Focus S hands-on

Samsung Focus S hands-on
Out of all the initial Windows Phones to launch last year on AT&T, the Samsung Focus easily comes to mind as being the most reputable one out there. Of course, one year later, we’re finally starting to see a device that charismatically improves upon the handset’s overall offering. Rocking a $199.99 on-contract price, the recently announced Samsung Focus S is no doubt bringing it to the table as being yet another high-end offering for the Windows Phone camp.

Honestly, the Samsung Focus S looks eerily similar to the Samsung Galaxy S II in terms of design. Specifically, it’s constructed out of plastic, very light weight, streamlined, and even has a similar patterned plastic back cover. Obviously, its overall size has increased by a tiny bit over the Focus from last year – well, that’s because it’s packing a larger 4.3” WVGA Super AMOLED Plus display. We can’t complain about the resolution, since all Windows Phones are the same, but our eyes are drooling over the rich and saturated colors the Super AMOLED display is able to produce – and at the same time, it simply shines at all angles.

Under the hood, the handset is powered by a single-core 1.4GHz processor, which is more than sufficient in maintaining the lovable, yet smooth response of Windows Phone 7.5 Mango. Furthermore, it features other things such as an 8-megapixel auto-focus camera with LED flash, front-facing 1.3-megapixel camera, 16GB of internal storage, high-def video recording, aGPS, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi. Sure it might not be a cutting edge phone, nor does it sport a fresh design, but the Samsung Focus S might simply be the most attractive Mango device for AT&T right now.
