Kogeto ICONIC adds 360-degree video to Galaxy Nexus

Kogeto is hoping the ICONIC 360-degree camera adapter will do for the Galaxy Nexus what the DOT did for iPhone 4S photography, a stick-on lens that allows the smartphone to capture all-round video. Clipping to the back of the third-gen Googlephone, the ICONIC – along with the companion Android app – will shoot 360-degree video and then piece it together into a playable, draggable clip shared online.

The Galaxy Nexus’ 1080p HD video recording mode is used, for maximum detail in the final clip (despite multiple angles being recorded at once) and Kogeto says it plans to offer other versions to suit different Android devices in due course. Meanwhile, the firm is hoping to license the tech to manufacturers, in the hope that they integrate it into their own phones.
You can see what sort of final clips are possible at Kogeto’s online “dotspots” sharing hub: remember, you can not only play the clips normally but drag them left and right while the footage is still running. The Kogeto ICONIC is expected to go on sale in the first half of 2012, priced at $79.

Rogers and Telus to Get Samsung Galaxy Nexus on January 13th

If you weren’t one of the lucky ones to score a Galaxy Nexus on Verizon or in the UK and you’re hopelessly wondering when you’re going to get your first taste of Ice Cream Sandwich, a few of you are in luck. Specifically you’re in luck if you’re in Canada and on Rogers or Telus as you will see a Galaxy Nexus of your own come January 13th. So far Bell is the only service to carry it in Canada.
If you live in areas surrounding Toronto or Vancouver then you can experience Rogers’ 4G speeds on this amazing device. Also, if you’re on Rogers and reserved your phone back in November, then you can expect to see them soon. There is no say on pricing but we should expect to see it around the same price as the competition’s. So if you’re in Canada, on one of these networks, and ready for an amazing phone, check out the Galaxy Nexus coming to a store near you next Friday. When you get yours, let us know if you feel the same way about yours as we do about ours.

Samsung SCH-R930 Makes Its Way Through The FCC Sporting LTE Bands, US Cellular Bound

Well, US Cellular wasn’t lying when they said they would be kicking off an LTE enabled smartphone this April.  The proof is in the pudding as they say and it looks like Samsung will be the device’s manufacturer.  Dubbed the SCH-R930, it’s been revealed via an FCC filing that LTE is indeed on board.  Pocketnow scooped the news on the device back in Sept and it appears that we could be looking at a Samsung Galaxy Indulge-esque device.  Here’s to hoping however, that Sammy brings their A-Game and adds a little pizzazz to it first.  Stay tuned as we dig a little deeper on specs, pricing and availability for you.  Don’t forget to let us know what you think in the comments below

Another look at a white Sprint Epic 4G Touch, will ship with version EK02

White Sprint Epic 4G Touch
Here's another nice look at the Sprint Epic 4G Touch in white thanks to a couple of insiders, and this one shows us the software these white beauties will be shipping with.  If anyone was still holding on to the idea that we'd see a new version of the software (possibly one of the recent leaked builds, I don't think anyone expected Ice Cream Sandwich just yet), I'm the bearer of bad news.  The white version ships with the same EK02 build that went out OTA last month.  The good news is that the Hardware version isn't new, so at least there's not an oddball version floating around when this one lands Sunday.
There's a screenshot from the about screen minus the reflections after the break, and a handful of shots showing off how hawt the white E4GT looks.  Thanks to the ninjas for sending these in, and thanks to everyone on Google+ who helped verify the numbers.

Samsung bringing Airplay competitor SwipeIt to CES

Android Central
Love or hate Apple products, the Airplay feature is an excellent way of sharing your mobile content on your TV. In a not overly surprising move, Samsung are keen to get in on this and are set to show of their SwipeIt application at CES.
Operation is set to be as simple as Airplay. If you're watching something on your mobile device, hit a button and voila; it's on your TV.
Android Central @ CES
The application started being pushed out by Samsung on New Year's Day to all their internet connected TVs. The mobile application was pushed out to the Android Market a couple of days later, albeit very low key. The listing is referenced to MOVL who built it for Samsung.
While Apple's alternative requires an all Apple lineup to utilise, SwipeIt will work with any Android device as our graphic below indicates. This is great news for anyone who owns a Samsung SmartTV but prefers a different brand of mobile device. Download links are after the break.
