Two of the most eagerly awaited Samsung mobile handsets have been finally revealed. Loaded with the Windows Phone Mango operating system, Samsung Focus S and Samsung Focus .
The main headline here is that Samsung Focus S and Focus Flash are among the phones pioneering the S2 processor, the second generation Snapdragon. In 2010 all Windows Phone products used the S1 processor which was fine but had the drawback on straining the battery more. The S1 processors were equipped with the 65nm chip which wasn't as efficient as the 45nm chip in the new Samsung phones available with the AT&T service provider.
The 45nm chip in the S2 processor enables much lesser power consumption resulting in greater battery life. Performance-wise too, Snapdragon 2 processor in the Samsung phones is better than its predecessor and facilitates the inclusion of the Adreno 205 graphical processor that provides up to twice the speed, and greater clock speeds too. The new S2 processor in both the Samsung devices have in fact clocked at 1.4GHz.
The design and looks are refreshing too with the slim concept significantly adding to the drool factor. The higher end model is undoubtedly Samsung Focus S. It is the slimmer of the two, with the least thickness of 0.34" or 8.5mm. Samsung Focus S is nearly as slim as Samsung Galaxy S II running on the Android operating system.
The 4.3" Super AMOLED Plus display in the screen makes it quite a pleasure to watch. There are two cameras - the 8-megapixel camera at the back to capture great shots with amazing resolution, and the 1.3-megapixel camera at the front that enables video conferencing for those vital business communications.
Samsung Focus Flash is most likely the lesser priced model, but is in no way inferior to Samsung Focus S in terms of aesthetic satisfaction. It may be thicker than Focus S but it has uniform thickness which results in an attractive straight bar-like profile. It is equipped with a Super AMOLED 3.7" screen, so the proportions are definitely lesser than its pricier sibling. Instead of an 8-megapixel camera, Focus Flash gets a 5-megapixel one.
