Bug-free Galaxy Nexus now available on Vodafone

Bug-free Galaxy Nexus now available on Vodafone. Samsung Galaxy Nexus, Vodafone, Phones, Mobile phones, Samsung, Ice Cream Sandwich 0

Vodafone has finally announced that the Samsung Galaxy Nexus has gone on sale in its shops after delaying the release of the mobile due to a bug.
The phone, which is packed full of Android Ice Cream Sandwich and delivers some pretty high-end tech within, was delayed to due to a bugwith its volume, described by some as a Self Aware Volume Ghost which turned the volume down on its own without warning.
However, the problem was fixed a few days ago and now everything seems to be back on track for the Galaxy Nexus.
Vodafone gives a brief run down on what you should expect to pay for the mobile.
"The Galaxy Nexus is available free on £41, 24-month plans - including 900 minutes, unlimited texts, and 750MB of mobile data."
If you are thinking of buying the Nexus then you can also give Vodafone's new Data Test Drive service a whirl, this lets you use as much data as you like for 3 months, with the option to tweak after the 3-month period. You can also get some cash for you old phone with the Vodafone Buyback scheme.
Of course, be sure to check out our full review of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and why not see what Ice Cream Sandwich has in store for you too?

Google releases Galaxy Nexus stock image for easy reinstall

Google has released a factory image for its pure-blood Galaxy Nexus GSM/HSDPA+ device and made it available to anyone.

The image can be used to easily recover the stock Ice Cream Sandwich software on the Galaxy Nexus in case of a manipulation gone wrong. This should come in handy to both experienced modders and newbies alike. If something goes wrong while flashing a custom rom, for example, you can revert your Galaxy Nexus to stock ICS in no time.
You'll need to set the device in fastboot mode before using the factory image. Google advises to lock your bootloader after restoring to secure the Galaxy Nexus. Hit the source link below for the bootloader, baseband and the rest of the system.

Galaxy Nexus hits Vodafone UK, 4G version coming to the US 12.12

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is now available at Vodafone UK stores for free starting from 41 quid on a two year deal. Meanwhile in the US the 4G LTE Galaxy Nexus for Verizon has been spotted on an alleged BestBuy inventory shot and rumored to appear in stores on December 11.

One of Android's hottest has been available in the US unlocked for the whopping $750 since last month. And it did launch in the UK to O2 and was listed by Phones4u too. Vodafone UK finally hopped on to the Galaxy Nexus bandwagon and offers the ICS droid in a variety of 5 plans, all of which two year.
Interestingly the Carphone Warehouse has the Galaxy Nexus listed for free on a 36 quid a month deal with Vodafone, Orange and O2 UK, which is 5 pounds cheaper than the Vodafone deal.
If you're a UK resident (and Vodafone subscriber) and are bent on getting the first ICS-certified droid with a 720p display of SuperAMOLED goodness,

Comparison – Motorola DROID RAZR Vs Samsung Galaxy Nexus

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is already making headlines long before its launch due to its roots. Meanwhile Motorola has just recently announced an addition to its RAZR lineup in the form of the Motorola DROID RAZR. How would this two stack up in a head on comparison?
Motorola DROID RAZR vs Samsung Galaxy Nexus

The two devices are dual-core touchscreen candybars that will be running on the same operating system, although the DROID RAZR will have to wait for the Galaxy Nexus to debut with the Android OS 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) before actually getting the update itself.

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is surprisingly the heftier device at 135 grams as opposed to the Motorola DROID RAZR which is only 127 grams. The DROID RAZR claims this round as being the thinner device at 7.1mm too, while the Galaxy Nexus is 8.94mm.

Maintaining the standard ‘large’ display dimensions at 4.3-inches, the Motorola DROID RAZR has a Super AMOLED qHD display that is reinforced with Gorilla Glass. On the other hand, the Galaxy Nexus overcompensates with its 4.65-inch screen, which features a whooping 1280 x 720 pixel resolution.

The Motorola DROID RAZR will have a bigger 1780mAH battery which offers up to 12 and half hours of talk time, though the Samsung Galaxy Nexus does not trail too far behind with its 1750mAH battery. Ultimately it boils down to usage patterns when it comes to lifespan for such devices.

While Motorola has been lagging in the smartphone race as of late, it seems they may be able to catch up with the DROID RAZR as it is a rather solid device, and we’re not even talking about its Kevlar-enforced body. If you seek an alternative that is comparable to Samsung’s best, bear in mind that by the time the Samsung Galaxy Nexus does become available, the DROID RAZR would have become slightly more affordable than its current asking price of RM 1999.

The Motorola DROID RAZR is an LTE device which was previously known as the Droid HD and Spyder. It comes with a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED qHD display with scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass. It is only 7.1mm thin, making it one of the thinnest Android smartphone available in the market right now

Other specifications include a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS. It sports an 8-megapixel camera with LED flash which supports 1080p video recording, as well as a 1.3-megapixel front facing camera. The Motorola DROID RAZR will be running on the Android OS 2.3.5 (Gingerbread).
