latest news about samsung mobiles : Samsung unveils four new Android smartphones

Samsung has also decided to give new nomenclature to its upcoming Galaxy smartphones which will now carry the letters S, R, W, M, or Y.

Samsung has announced four new handsets in its Galaxy series running Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
The company has simplified the nomenclature of its Galaxy series which usually creates confusion among its potential users. As per the new naming strategy, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy series handsets will carry the names: Super Smart (S), Royal/Refined (R), Wonder (W), Magical (M) and Young (Y).
The flagship Android devices from Samsung will carry the Galaxy S branding where S stands for 'Super Smart'. Galaxy S series smartphones will be top of the line smartphones with large screens and heavy-horsepower hardware under the hood.
After that comes the premium model series, Galaxy R where R stands for 'Royal' or 'Refined'. The Galaxy R series devices will combine power, design and productivity but will not have all the features that the flagship model has.
In the higher segment falls the Galaxy W series in which W stands for 'Wonder'. The smartphone will feature high quality strategic models for those who want a stylish handset that can perform well.
The Galaxy M series - where M is for 'Magical' - will comprise handsets with decent performance at an economical price. The handsets in the Galaxy M series will fall under the mid-range segment.
Samsung Galaxy Y series, in which Y stands for 'Young', will be entry level handsets meant for emerging markets and the younger generation.
Each of the above mentioned Galaxy phones will carry further classification which would be the key selling point of the devices. All Galaxy series phones with the name 'Pro' will include a physical full Qwerty keyboard. While those Galaxy models branded 'Plus' will basically be an upgrade from existing models.
Meanwhile, the specifications of the new Samsung handsets are as follows:
Galaxy W
Flaunting a 3.7 inch display, Galaxy W falls in the higher segment and houses a 1.4 GHz processor. The capacitive display can support WVGA (800 x 480 pixel) resolution and is capable for supporting 14.4 Mbps HSDPA (3G networks) for wireless connectivity.

latest news of samsung mobiles:Samsung Bada 2.0

Samsung announces its latest Bada platform with features like NFC and better support for most present day technologies.

Bada 2.0 - the next generation of the Bada OS - is all set to hit the stores with the launch of the Samsung Wave 3 handset, which is set to be unveiled on September 1. But before the platform and the new device actually hit the stores, Samsung Mobiles has announced the software development kit (SDK) for the Bada 2.0 OS that will help developers make new application for it.
Bada 2.0 brings together a wide variety of new capabilities which were missing from the earlier version including multi-tasking, WiFi Direct (it allows WiFi devices to share content without the need for wireless access points), Near Field Communication (NFC) and voice recognition. It enables smartphone users to experience advanced services such as mobile payment, transport pass-card recharge and file sharing without Internet networking.
In addition, considering the increased use of web using smartphones, Bada 2.0 supports HTML5 and improved Flash functions thus offering enhanced usability and web experience.
"Samsung Bada and our Wave devices continue to succeed around the world, taking advantage of the mobile technology and brand awareness of Samsung's leadership in the market," said JK Shin, president and head of Samsung's mobile communications business.
JK Shin further added: "We have brought together our key mobile innovations in Bada 2.0, setting the foundation for it to become a leading mobile platform."
With the launch of the new platform, Samsung has not forgotten the welfare of its developers. As a key feature for developer partners Samsung has included the In-app Ads. Using the Ads, developers for Bada 2.0 can easily insert advertisements, creating new revenue opportunities for the developers to keep making or developing applications for the platform.
With the Samsung Wave 3 smartphone looking at a September launch, Samsung is sure to have a big list of applications for the new updated platform especially with the ones that can make full use of the functionalities added to the OS. And with the launch of the SDK for the BADA 2.0 OS Samsung has ensured availability of applications from developers as well.

latest news of samsung mobiles:Samsung Bada 2.0 this year

The new Bada 2.0 will bring a wide variety of features including multi-tasking, WiFi Direct, Near Field Communication (NFC), voice recognition, HTML5 support and improved Flash functions.

An updated version of Samsung's Badaoperating system will be rolled out towards the end of this year, the company announced on its Twitter page. The new Bada 2.0 will then be available for older devices running on the earlier Bada OS.
As reported earlier by The Mobile Indian, Samsung had released the SDK (software development kit) for developers some time back following the unveiling of the three new phones featuring Bada 2.0 OS last month.
The new Bada 2.0 brings together a wide variety of new capabilities which were missing from the earlier version including multi-tasking, WiFi Direct, Near Field Communication (NFC), voice recognition, HTML5 support and improved Flash functions, thus offering enhanced usability and web experience.
The software will be made available to users in the form of updates most probably through Samsung's Keis application. Although Samsung has not revealed the roadmap for the release, it mentioned that the roll out will begin from the fourth quarter (October-December) this year starting with European countries.
Samsung also mentioned that not all Wave or Bada devices would get the same set of features as a lot will differ due to the hardware of the devices. So, faster and more powerful smartphones will get more features compared to slower and smaller Bada devices. More information on this is awaited from Samsung.

latest news of samsung mobiles:Samsung to manufacture Bada phones in India

With this development, mobile customers in India can expect a 4 per cent reduction in Samsung's smartphone prices, when mass manufacturing starts in the country.

Korean mobile phone major Samsung Electronics has commissioned new facilities at its Noida manufacturing plant through which it plans to produce Android and Bada operating system phones in India by the year end.
Ranjit Yadav, country head, mobile and IT business, Samsung India, said during an event in Delhi, "Samsung's Noida facility is currently manufacturing multimedia, dual-SIMand touchscreen phones and by year we will start producing Android and Bada handsets also."
As a result of this development, mobile customers in India can expect a 4 per cent reduction Samsung smartphone prices when mass manufacturing starts in the country. In the current scenario when handset players import handsets from other countries they pay import duty of 4 per cent, which a company can pass on to customers if they start mass production in India.
Yadav didn't reveal the names of smartphones that Samsung will be manufacturing in India but we expect some of the smartphones from Samsung Galaxy S to be manufactured here because of the appeal this device has in India.
In the same event J S Shin, president and chief executive officer for South West Asia at Samsung, said, "India is one of the top three mobile markets for Samsung in the world and we stand committed to this market and Indian consumers."
He added, "We are working on consistently strengthening our presence in the country through a very innovative mobile portfolio; as well as enhance manufacturing, operations, research and development."
