As a variant of the Samsung Conquer, expect it to sport, just like its Sprint cousin, a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 3.5-inch HVGA display, 3.2-megapixel camera, and a 1.3-megapixel webcam. It should be powered by Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread and, while the Sprint Conquer 4G has WiMAX support, the Tikal will offer 4G LTE connectivity-support. If the recently announced LG Esteem 4G LTE goes for $249 with slightly better specs, expect the Samsung SCH-R940 to be cheaper, hopefully below $200 like currently the Samsung Galaxy Indulge

Samsung wins Approval for tablet pc sales in Australia
Samsung Electronics Co. will start selling its rival to Apple Inc.’s iPad 2 in Australian stores before Christmas after the country’s highest court denied the U.S. company’s bid to maintain a ban on Samsung Galaxy tablets.
Chief Justice Robert French, on behalf of the three-judge High Court panel, said today that Apple failed to persuade them that it could win on appeal and denied the company a hearing. He reinstated an appeals court judgment lifting the ban on the Galaxy 10.1 tablets in Australia.
The ruling ends Apple’s four-month effort to keep the iPad’s biggest rival out of Australia on claims it infringes patents related to touch-screen technology. Apple and Samsung, the world’s biggest makers of smartphones and tablet computers, have sued each other on four continents since the Cupertino, California-based company accused the South Korean electronics maker in April of “slavishly copying” its products.
Samsung sells 300 million+ mobile phones in 2011
Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd said on Sunday its annual mobile handset sales this year had exceeded 300 million units for the first time in the company’s history.
Samsung is the first vendor to have reached the 300 million mark in Korea and the second one to do so in the world after the world’s biggest mobile phone maker, Nokia.
To make and ship the record amount, Samsung manufactured 820-thousand handsets a day, which translates to making at least 9 handsets per second.
After shipping 1 million units of cell phones in 1996, the Korean company has grown quickly over the years breaking the 100 million mark in 2005, and the 200 million mark in 2009.
“We are incredibly proud of this record-breaking sales milestone and have exceeded the annual target announced early this year, which is testament to the enduring appeal of Samsung phones with consumers around the world,” said Shin Jong-kyun, president and head of Samsung’s mobile communications business.
Samsung Preparing High Resolution Tablet for February, Aiming to Surpass the iPad 3 Retina Display?
Samsung might beat the iPad 3 on its turf, that is innovation and surpass its rumored Retina Display technology. The South Koreans are expected to announce yet another Galaxy Tab at Mobile World Congress in February, a device that will feature a 11.6 inch display and support an incredible 2560 x 1600 pixel resolution.
The slate will run Android Ice Cream Sandwich and I wouldn’t be surprised at all if it was a quad core tablet. In spite of being a 11.6 inch device, this unit is described as being about the same size as the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, so it will have an incredibly thin bezel. For now, the processing power on this slate is attributed to the 2GHz dual core Exynos 5250 CPU, but we have to wait and see.
MWC 2012 will be exciting, with HTC showing off both a quad core tablet and smartphone, while ASUS will launch their tablet/phone PadFone and who knows what RIM, Nokia, Apple and the others will surprise us with. Who’s willing to be that the “Retina Display” Galaxy Tab will be subjected to Apple lawsuit?

Galaxy Nexus, Droid RAZR two-part comparison video
Over in the USA they are still waiting the arrival of the first Android Ice Cream Sandwich packing Samsung Galaxy Nexus, and if you are growing weary perhaps you are contemplating picking up the Motorola Droid RAZR rather than continuing to wait for the Galaxy Nexus, but can’t make up your mind, well perhaps a comparison video between the two will help you make that important decision.
Thus we have a Samsung Galaxy Nexus verses the Motorola Droid RAZR comparison fight video for your viewing consideration below that comes our way courtesy of Aaron Baker over at Phone Dog and comprises of two videos, when combined they deliver a nice twenty-four minutes of checking out both Android smartphones.
The comparison pits the GSM version of the Galaxy Nexus against the Droid RAZR as the Verizon 4G LTE model still isn’t available but there is some compassion to be had as both devices sport a 1.2GHz TI OMAP dual core processor and large touch screen, the Galaxy Nexus having a 4.65-inch Super AMOLED HD 720p display with PenTile tech and the Droid RAZR having a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Advanced display with PenTile tech.
Camera wise the Samsung Galaxy Nexus falls behind the RAZR slightly by sporting a 5 megapixel rear facing camera with 1080p video, as to the Droid RAZR having an 8 megapixel rear facing camera with 1080p video. Whereas the Galaxy Nexus wins when it comes to operating system sporting Android 4.0 while the Droid RAZR packs Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread.
But which device can come out on top? Well I wont spoil your viewing enjoyment but rather just let you head on down to hit that play button and check out this two-part video comparison fight for yourself…enjoy.

Galaxy Nexus for Verizon offered on eBay at hefty price
If you are over in the good old US of A and patiently waiting for the Big Red to get their finger out and release that Samsung Galaxy Nexus but are becoming somewhat tired of waiting, and if you don’t mind shelling out a large bundle of bucks to own the first Android Ice Cream Sandwich smartphone you might like to hit up eBay.
According to the guys over at Phone Arena there is a Verizon version of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus up on offer on eBay that could land you the 32GB Android 4.0 smartphone somewhere between the 13th and 15th of this month.
You may be aware that the word doing the rounds is that the Big Red is holding off releasing the Galaxy Nexus in the States due to a disagreement over whether Google Wallet should remain on the handset, as Verizon want it removed, as we reported earlier.
However if you simply must have the Samsung Galaxy Nexus playing nice on the Verizon network before Christmas then you can buy it now on eBay at a rather hefty cost of $1200 plus $30 shipping.
Apparently the eBay seller claims that the Verizon version of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus is brand new, unused and unopened and in its original packaging, and the seller note in capitals below the specs that Verizon is holding off the release of this phone until mid-Jan – Feb next year.
The seller also says they will include a receipt so there will be no warranty problems, and the device is ready to be activated as they have tested it with their SIM card, so if they have tested their SIM card doesn’t that mean the device has been opened and used?
