The long going legal fight between Samsung and Apple is finally concluded where Samsung Electronics Co. won the game. Last week, the Australian court lifted ban on Samsung’s Galaxy tab’s sales. Earlier, with the application placed by Apple Inc. as special leave to appeal, the court extended the stay on the sales of Samsung’s Galaxy tablet computer till December 9.
Now as the ban is lifted, we expect Samsung will get huge market space to sell its best tablet during the Christmas shopping season. On the other hand, even Samsung filed case against Apple Inc. regarding the copyright issues with iPhone 4S in France. However, the court rejected its bid to put a halt on the sales of Apple’s iPhone 4S. Since April 2011, Apple and Samsung have been actively participated in total 30 legal cases across10 countries. As the competition is high, both the companies are trying to push their sales of tablets and smartphones as much as possible, especially because of the major shopping season throughout the year.
The Australian High Court has announced that the South Korean company Samsung can sell its device in Australia for the remaining weeks of the major Christmas shopping season. This final ruling has been done following the judgment of an U.S. court which denied plea made by Apple for banning Galaxy tablets and phones in the country.
With the rejection of Samsung’s plea to ban Apple’s iPhone 4S sales in France, the court has ordered the South Korean company to pay 100,000 euros of the legal fees of Apple. Samsung in its statement has said that it would review the ruling made for the sales of devices in France and would try all available options to state its intellectual property rights.
This fight began at first in the United States where Apple sued Samsung by claiming that the smartphones and tablets are highly copied from Apple’s products. To answer back, Samsung has also sued Apple in infringing on its telecommunications technology. Expanded the fight with the launch of Apple’s iPhone 4S in October 2011. In fact, Samsung had also filed preliminary injunction motions against Apple’s iPhone 4S which was released in Italy, France, Japan, and Australia in the month of October. No doubt, that Samsung is the top smartphone maker in the world, but the fight between these two giants will lead them nowhere.
