While the "7.7" figure is supposed to refer to the size in inches of the tablet's 1280 x 800 display, it very nearly doubles as claim to the tablet's thinness; in reality, the device is just a smidge too thick, at 7.9 millimeters. While that misses the mark on the coincidence, it's still a solidly impressive measurement.
Beyond its slim build, the Galaxy Tab 7.7 is noteworthy for its Super AMOLED+ display, a rarity on tablets. The hardware is powered by a dual-core 1.4GHz processor, features 16GB of internal flash storage, and includes a three-megapixel main camera with a two-megapixel front-facer. 4G's the name of the game in 2012, so of course the Galaxy Tab 7.7 includes an LTE-compatible radio.
All together, the Galaxy Tab 7.7 weighs-in at under three-quarters of a pound. According to Verizon, sales will begin "in the coming weeks
