Yesterday at the International Solid-State Circuits Conference, Samsung showed their new Exynos chip, which can come in dual-core and quad-core configurations. Frequencies range from 200 MHz to 1.5 GHz, and it’s 32nm part, which is down from 45nm with the previous chip. This means better performance and less power consumption.
The new CPU gets a performance boost of 26% over the current Exynos chip. They’re also promising a 50% improvement of battery life. One has to wonder if these comparisons are based on dual-core or quad-core. Either way, I’m sure we will find out more next week at Mobile World Congress so stay tuned.
