FCC gives a nod of approval to the Samsung Galaxy S Advance, using AT&T bands

The Samsung Galaxy S Advance has shown up in FCC documents. We previously didn’t have any release information for this handset in the US, so all you Samsung fans out there in the United States can rest assured that you will see the Galaxy S Advance at some point. The FCC documents reveal that the phone, also known as the GT-i9070, has AT&T bands. Samsung announced the phone in January, and we got to see some real life pics shortly after. The documents show that the handset’s GSM 850/1900 bands, dual-band WiFi, WCDMA bands 850/1900, Bluetooth and NFC are all approved. Here’s a little refresher on the specs:
  • 1GHz dual-core CPU
  • 4-inch Super AMOLED display
  • 768 MB of RAM
  • 5 MP rear facing camera and 1.3 MP front facing camera
  • Android 2.3 Gingerbread
  • 1500 mAh battery
Since it’s a new release, we’re hoping this phone will be upgraded to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich before too long. There is no confirmation on the release date or price yet. Stay posted to Talk Android for more information on the Samsung Galaxy S Advance as it becomes available.
