Samsung’s Galaxy S III To Come Standard With Wireless Charging?

News of the Samsung Galaxy S III continues to break ground and just when you thought there’s nothing else that can top what we’ve already heard about the device, it looks like Sammy wants to add on to the wow factor.  According to Korean publication DDaily, they’re reporting that the new device will open the doorway for the introduction of standard built-in inductive charging.  There are currently a few ways out there that will allow you to wirelessly charge your smartphone but they often involve crazy hacks and some slight risk in damaging your device.  However, the Galaxy S III will support the feature right out of the box.  And while this isn’t new, recall several webOS devices by Palm a couple of years back used wireless charging, this could be a break in the industry for other manufacturers to follow suit.
According to several sources, Samsung’s device will work even when the device isn’t physically attached to the charger surface.  There’s a one to two meter distance allowance which means the device can still charge while near or next to the surface.  Samsung will most likely use their own proprietary patented tech method instead of the Fulton eCoupled method intro’d at CES.  We’re still digging to see if the charging surface will be included in the box when the device is released or if it will cost extra to purchase as an accessory.  I’m leaning towards the latter but if Sammy wants to deliver a huge smack to Apple’s face, that would sure be a killer add-on right out of the box.
