Samsung Omnia W now available in UK
Samsung Omnia W has been launched by play.com in UK for an attached retail price of £339.99. The device is currently being offered with various cellular plans from O2, Orange, T-Mobile and Vodafone. It also means that the device is sold locked and as of now, there is no unlocked version available.
Samsung Omnia W is one of the first handsets that is sold with Windows Phone v7.5 (Mango) on-board. The device has dimensions of 115.6 x 58.8 x 10.9 mm with a weight of 115.3 grams.
The display is 3.7 inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors that can render a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. The camera module implanted at back is 5MP with autofocus + flash and there is also a front VGA camera for videocalling. If you are looking for a very good camera phone, look somewhere else.
Samsung Omnia W runs on a single core 1.4 Ghz processor with 512 MB RAM. The device has 8 GB of in-built memory and as the case with most of Windows Phones, there isn’t a microSD slot for additional expansion of storage.
Further, the device has Accelerometer, Promimity sensor, gyro sensor, GPS with A-GPS, HSDPA, 14.4 Mbps; HSUPA, 5.76 Mbps, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n but no tethering, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP profile, microUSB v2.0 and runs on Microsoft Windows Phone 7.5. The device is powered by a battery of 1500 mAh.
