Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 on hold

Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 10.1 won’t be sold in Australia until the South Korean tech giant’s legal entanglements with Apple are resolved.
Apple claims that the tablet infringes ten patents and took action in Federal Court yesterday to halt sales. Samsung has agreed not to sell the device until it wins court approval.
However, the feud between the tech rivals seems to be escalating as Apple is now demanding that the entire stock of 10.1 tablets be destroyed. A spokeswoman for Apple said that “It’s no coincidence that Samsung’s latest products look a lot like the iPhone and iPad, from the shape of the hardware to the user interface and even the packaging.”
Apple is now suing Samsung in nine different countries, a move made more curious by the fact that Samsung currently manufactures a number of items for Apple, including the iPad’s A5 processor.
Samsung isn’t the only company to come under pressure from Apple, as HTC has also recently been found to infringe on two of Apple’s patents. The Cupertina-based company’s spokeswoman said, “This kind of blatant copying is wrong, and we need to protect Apple’s intellectual property when companies steal our ideas.”
